How Reliq works.

Welcome to the internal friends and family test of Reliq.

Our team has spent the past six months building what we hope is the final landing place for collected inspiration.

You already save ideas all day. A screenshot here, an Instagram save there, a voice note at a red light. And as the great Oren John put it, everyone is always saving, but nobody ever goes back.

Reliq is the place they all land, and the thing that brings the right ideas back the moment you need them.

Thank you for taking the time to test. Everyone here will receive an exclusive friends and family physical Reliq when the public beta releases.

What Reliq is

A mobile app for people who make things. Everything you save from Instagram, Pinterest, Cosmos, Photos, Notes and voice notes goes into one library. Reliq reads each save offline, understands what it is, and files it with the work it belongs to. Nothing you keep ever leaves your phone.

Why we made it

Every day you scroll for hours and stop for maybe ten things. Those ten were chosen by the most valuable filter there is: your own attention. Then they vanish. Three apps, four camera rolls, a note you will never open again.

Most creatives never had an idea problem. Finding the ideas again was the problem. Reliq exists so that nothing you loved enough to save is ever out of reach.

How the app works

i.Capture

Anything, from anywhere, through the share button: a post, a link, a photo, a screenshot, a voice note. No folders to choose, no tags to type. Send it in and go back to your day.

Reliq reads what came in, what it shows, what it is about, its colours, its mood, and groups it with the work it belongs to. Your library organises itself while you sleep.

ii.Collect

When you need something back, type the way you actually remember: a vague description, a colour, a category, half a memory. The right saves return together, as single finds or as whole reference boards assembled from nothing but your own library.

iii.Connect

Every project and every save lives in the Connect tab. New saves are added to their projects automatically, and Reliq lets you know when they land, so you can always go back and reference the work as it grows.

The easter egg

Press and hold the photos on the home screen and a map of every save unfolds. The closer the clusters sit, the more related the ideas. Wander it when you are stuck.

Ways people use it

The industrial designer

Years of saved references finally in one place: the chairs, the hardware, the materials, the finishes. Start a new piece and ask for exactly the shelf of your memory you need:

i’m designing a chair, find me all the references brushed aluminium furniture

A saved chair reference A saved stool reference A saved aluminium stool A saved green sofa

The director

Every frame that ever stopped your thumb becomes a location scout, a lookbook, a lighting reference. Building a treatment, you pull from everything you have ever loved:

burnt orange references those 16 mm film stills i keep saving editorial lighting

A burnt orange bar A 16 mm film still on a lake An orange lit room A grainy film frame of the sea

Every day

Reliq is not only for the studio. Save the whole trip as you go: the meals, the streets, the strange elevator, the car you circled back to photograph. Months later, when something you are making needs that feeling, ask for it:

everything from the japan trip that cool g wagon i saw in japan find me everywhere i went this year

A G wagon photographed on the street Lying in the grass on a trip A picnic on a car bonnet Flowers found on the street

The half memory

And for the times you barely remember at all: name the colour, the mood, or the one detail that stuck. Reliq searches the way memory works, not the way folders do. You do not need to know what you called it, because you never called it anything.

the red room that blurry one by the water the metal clip thing

A red lit room, half remembered A blurry grainy frame by the water A metal clip, the one detail that stuck A dark bottle with a single drip

The mark

The logo is a diagram of the whole idea. Five shapes: the middle circle and the oval beneath it, together, are you. That is why the profile icon in the app is drawn from those two shapes. The three lobes around you are your ideas. The left is capture, the top is collect, the right is connect. Light the parts one at a time and the mark tells the product’s story by itself.

The full system, from how the mark is drawn to its five states to the aluminium Reliq it became, lives in The Reliq system.
